SOCOM uses pretty much the same control system, it's fine as far as it goes, it's just that using any joypad is far inferior to the keyboard/mouse combo I'm used to.

It is certainly interesting that, in an interview I read with one of the guys on the team doing the Halo PC port, he said they'd be tweaking the difficulty levels in certain parts because the speed and accuracy of a mouse/keyboard combo made those sections much, much easier.

I personally find the X-box pad much easier to use than when I was playing stuff like Half-Life on the PC using a mouse and keyboard,but thats just my lack of co-ordination .
I am in the process of setting up my X-box live account....it doesn't go as smoothly as they make out!
One thing that really narked me was that in all the info on Live, it doesn't mention that you need a credit card to register.Debit cards aren't accepted.
I can get around it,but it is annoying when you think you are minutes away from online fun, only to hit a little snag like that.
I also had to buy a RJ45 crossover lead as the standard broadband one doesn't work on the x-box.
Hopefully later, I shall be giving Moto GP a thrashing online

My setup was pretty straightforward as I already had a router setup and all I needed was a stupidly long length of cable to run downstairs to the Xbox in the living room.

Tend to mostly play MechAssault but Unreal Championship might be interesting just to compare against the PC iterations.
