American games are not playable out the box on english cubes. However they just brought out a disc called Freeloader.
You stick this in first, eject, then stick in the american game of your choice and it works. You can get it for about £14.
To my knowledge, all GBA games are swappable across all regions. There are a tiny number of games on the GB COlour that you cant play on the GBA or GBA SP. These were mostly never released in the UK anyway. But one that was was one with a tilt sensor in, not sure of the title but youd know if you had it.
Did you get Super Monkey Ball 2? Got it an loving it.
