SAVE CAMDEN!!!!!!

Now i know alot of people on here are frequenters of camden market and the electric ballroom. well ive found out that they plan to bulldoze the ballroom and adjacent market and turn it into upmarket offices,shops and updated tube. now im all for updating the tube but not at the expense of getting rid of small market traders and the ballroom. it would destraoy the ambiance of camden.

-edit- If it would look anything like the artist's impressions it would stick out like the country's biggest sore thumb. There is NO need for offices or accommodation above the station, matter of fact there's no need for half the things listed there. If they want to stop the station getting crowded maybe they should stop closing half of it off

Latest depressing sign of the "gentrification" of Camden Town. First noticed the rot setting in when the military surplus stalls started to vanish.

Actually, it occurs to me that with Leon Paul (fencing), Wolf Armouries (airsoft), Mega City Comics and a GAME branch, Camden Town is about as close to my perfect neighbourhood as I could imagine!

Most all the shops along the high street are pretty much dependant on the tourist trade....

im not sure, it'll probably be in the tube website if anywhere.knowing how councils work it'l be in the bogged down in beurocracy for quite a while so we've got time to do something about it.

They've been saying for years that they're gonna trash the Ballroom & make it into something to do with London Underground.
There was even a TV programme on it sometime late last year.

I have signed so many petitions, I think my hand's gonna fall off some time soon.
