I'm away from Friday afternoon 'til Monday morning but I'm gonna set the video to record all the highlight shows. Sad, I know but I don't care

Big Brother 4...
Starts on Friday
So who's gonna be watching and who's gonna try and avoid it like the plague?
Apparently this year they've tried to eliminate all teh show off and posers who want to use it to launch TV/Pop careers and are hoping that this will mean a more engaging show. Its back to basics with no gimmicky stuff like the Rich and Poor houses from last year, but we will start off with 12 contestents on Friday.
I will be watching the first show carefully and see if I can win any money by betting on the winner and getting it right again like I did last year and the year before

I can't wait. I've given up denying that I like the show now as I know I'll be hooked by the end of the first week. The summer wouldn't be the same wothout BB now

Its always really boring for the first few weeks until yuo get to know the housemates then it gets sorta addictive so i'll probaly be watching some of it. Didn't Milky go in for this, I hope he gets in cuz he had some well cool stuff planned, but he can't tell us if hes got in or not can he?

I have only ever seen any of these (or most of the other programmes in this genre) when I'm in someone else's house.
The only thing I ever took the slightest interest in was the Celeb Driving School for Comic Relief and only because one of the instructors taught me to drive.

As with all such excremental shows, I will be doing my utmost to avoid knowing the name of a single contestant.

It's wretched and often painfull, but hard to avoid -- too much late night channel-hopping will ensure that I see some of it, and too many conversations will feature enough of it that even if I manage to miss it on TV I'll catch the spill-over of it into real life.
It's an interesting idea nonetheless, and if it wasn't for the showiness of it I'd be tempted to apply -- ie if you didn't win money, weren't on the telly and wouldn't become a z-list celebrity; so bizarrely the reasons why most people do apply are the very reasons I wouldn't am clearly barking mad.

Well I can honestly say now that if any of you expect to see me on C4 on Friday night you're gonna be disappointed as I didn't get in, didn't even get to the audition stage but that was probably cos my video was *so* bad...I'm going to try again next year though..it just looks like great fun to me.

Yup, I'll be watching! And I hope they do avoid all the gimmicks of the last series and just get back to being good!
And as Milky sent a video in, has anyone seen it on E4 yet? My mum saw a friend's video on there a few days ago which was quite a surprise.

And in response to comments about the (black/bubonic, I presume?) plague, that had some originality about it. Besides, I'd much rather catch that than another series of Big Brother: it's much less painful!

LOL Milky that means your tape is being played on E4 on the run up to the start of the show. this is all i've seen or read on the show is flicking through channel and catching people make idiots of themselves on these videos and the lamest reasons. lol. i gotta admit i've found it more entertaining then the shows themselves.
I did a great job of avoiding the last one and missing most of the one before so will try my darnest not to get trapped in the obscene addiction that *can* be reality tv

I've watched the E4 thing a couple of times but never seen my tape..in all honesty it was really crap..not funny crap or interesting crap just boring..I had loads of time to do it but as usual was to lazy to bother till it was almost to late. I'm determined to go all out for it next year.
