Yup, and plenty more here love to watch BB and its ilk as well. Pretty much all of whom I like to consider my friends. But just as I have to put up with my friends giving money to organisations who'd be more than happy to criminalise my sexuality, so they have to put up with me slagging off their entertainment.

And I certainly hope that anyone reading the Scum realises they're reading trash.

*sigh* Yes I read the Sun, yes I know JJ's opinions on it but as I've said before just because I prefer my journalism(waits for JJ's comment that whats in the Sun ain't journalism ) in a simple form doesn't mean that I agree with it's viewpoint. I like to read a paper that doesn't make me think but that gives me the basics of whats going on, I like BB as well..to me it looks like fun and it's something I'd love to do. So because I like these things does that mean I'm a simple-minded homophobe?? If you think so you obviously haven't met me.

This reason honestly baffles me, because Sun articles are so overtly propagandist it's often impossible to glean any genuinely useful information from them.

I read The Sun’s piece on the proposed EU Constitution (their front-page was so jaw-droppingly xenophobic curiosity got the better of me) before any other source, and remained as ignorant about its actual contents as I was before I'd started, such was the overwhelming prevalence of the article’s bias and hysterical speculation (nonsense like the Constitution “could” be the basis of a European superstate and “could lead” to an EU representative replacing Britain on the UN Security Council). The article in The Independent on the same subject was infinitely better. It condensed the complex facts of a labyrinthine treaty into something straightforward and manageable that its reader could get a handle on. It was a far easier read than The Sun’s effort, because it presented the facts and differing opinions clearly and dispassionately.

If you read The Sun, you don't get any news at all, just material a certain Wapping Redhead filters through the smokescreen of her cocksure opinions. In the Iraqi war, what other newspapers were leading with didn’t even get reported because it diverged from the paper’s editorial line!

"The newspaper is 90% rubbish, but its entertaining" i think that is why many people read the Sun, Daily record instead of the Independent or Scotsman. Although the broadsheets are more indepth they arent as entertianing i find.

Can't say I've ever hard difficulty reading the Grauniad or the Indy on either train or bus. Please they're even better read on the kitchen table with a nice cup of coffee.

As for entertainment, depends on what you want. I'm more entertained by intelligent and well researched reports on, say, the state of the current education crises, or the truth behind the actions taking place in Iraq or Gaza strip than I am in the sexual or drug activity of third rate soap stars, or just how much Posh Beckham currently ways.

To each their own, I guess.

The way I see TV is that if you don't like it don't watch it. Mainly the reason I don't really watch much now, or read any kinda of daily newspaper for that matter.

Regarding the Sun offering to pay for people to have sex in the Big Brother house, well I really want to say it's their money so they should do what they like with it but I just *know* one of you guys will come and tell me the money has come from some low down, immoral, unjust hypocritical source so I won't bother

As for watching people have sex on TV - I'm pretty sure there's a market for that out there

Well, if it happens it happens. With all that is going on in the world, is this really worth getting all het up about?

I plan on watching as much of it as possible while I thumb through my copy of The Sun while munching on a Pot Noodle.

Secretly, I think the people who look down on this sort of thing are just as voyeuristic as the rest of us. We're just more up front about it is all. They are the equivalent of the net-curtain twitchers whereas the rest of us are the ones that step out of the front door to have a good look. Personally, I'd go to serious lengths to avoid watching any of the Big Brother inmates taking their degree in mutual carnal knowledge, on health grounds if nothing else.

Fair enough if someone wants to watch a, shall we say, more profesional production if that's what rocks their boat, but all you'll get on Channel 4 is some furtive fumbling under the sheets with comedy grunting, shot with all the quality of a Macintire Uncovered investigation into the Russian sex trade.

But hey, it obviously works for some people. Each to their own I guess.

This is the first of me reading this thread, (And to be honest I didn't read all of it.)

Personally, I'm not really fussed, I read the Sun, I (sometimes if it is on) watch big brother. When I was in Scotland I watched it religously to see people make a (insert word here) of themselves. I found it funny, is there a crime there? When the chicks got all nekkid in the bath last year I was all WAYHEY!! Purely because it was entertainment.

I'm not gonna get into things here because as per usual this will (read that as has) turn into a debate on 'My newspaper is better than yours'. People, it's a dead tree, get over it!
