Key word here is substantial. Just reread it to check but still can't find anything much there beyond a host of throw away literary references. It seems to take a scattergun approach rather than concentrating on justifying any one of the (probably legitimate) claims made for the series.
Seems an awful lot like analysis to me, and a good deal more substantial than most braindead newspaper reviews of the series I've read.
