Theres still a few roundabouts in the playgrounds near me, but they arn't the solid type like they just to be they are the open ones.

What I miss are the Witchy's hats, now they were fun ... and now I am showing my age

I think both of you should take a long hard look at your behaviour.

You are encouraging impressionable children to mess around having 'fun' on dangerous contraptions that have over the years caused the bruising of literally dozens of young people.

Society is not safe whilst children are exposed to such dangers.

I advocate a name and shame campaign of any playgrounds featuring the following dangerous items (feel free to add your own):

Swings
Roundabouts
See saws
Climbing frames

On top of that, by providing entertainment like this, you are inevitably going to attract children and wherever there are large groups of children you are only playing into the hands of the dangerous paedophiles lurking around every corner.

Say 'No' to playgrounds and give our children a safer future.

well they often have that saftey tarmac stuff nowadays so that can soften a lot of injuries, but palygrounds are fun for kids even though yeah they can be sorta dangerous sometimes. But you gotta think, would you rather they were in te streets causing trouble cuz they're bored? Anyway I still sometimes go to playgrounds on the way back from the pub

Slides should also be banned. I mean hurtrling of a slipery surface under the power of gravity, with nothing to fall on! My gosh, i cant believe my mother let me play on slides.

Is it too late to sue?

Then there's the skipping rope! Is that a choking waiting to happen or what?

And the grassy areas, dont you know you can get tettanus from the dirt under the grass!!!

Then those rope walls. there's a reason the army train with them, 'cos you have to be big and strong to use them!

Who's going to start the pettition?

Yeah, they were great. But - obviously - way too dangerous and should be banned immediately.

I think we need to broaden our scope here. Trees are an open invitation for children to climb to heights of at least five feet! I propose that all vegetation in excess of 2 meters in height be outlawed. Our children aren't safe until we enforce strict shrub height restrictions.

i think i've missed out on witches hats, that description doesn't ring any bells. So they should definately get banned, if i never got to play on one no one should

I went flying off a roundabout when I was little. Missed the soft, squidgy bit completely and landed on the hard ground beyond it. So of course playgrounds should be banned! All the emotional trauma I suffered!
