Well, it was a bit of a tussle between 'The Body' and 'Fool For Love'. Both were excellent episodes but, in the end, FFL won out for its finale and because of the corresponding episode on Angel that season.

The sequence where Spike tells Buffy why he was able to kill two Slayers in his time was riveting viewing. And the scene at the very end with Buffy and Spike sat on the porch, after Buffy has found out about her mother's tumour, is an extremely touching moment.

This ep was certainly worthy of the round of applause it received when shown at Nos all those months ago.

I quite liked Fool for Love but voted for The Gift.

I've made no secret of the fact that I think seasons 5 and 6 (and what I have seen of 7) of Buffy are very poor with a handful of good episodes between them.

The Gift redeemed season 5 for me because it was a great ending, melancholy in keeping with the tone of Buffy since the beginning and the way that a hero should bow out, sacrificing themselves to save the world.

Also, the intro sequence with the 'Previously on...' montage and the dusting managed to sum up the show in a neat exchange of dialogue:

'But you're just a girl.'
'That's what I keep saying.'

Although it would have been a shame to lose the musical episode, I think The Gift would have been a great sign off for the show.

Surely you remembered an ep like 'The Body'?

ok, i remmebered that one and a couple of others but i had to really think about it, i just felt it was a poor season

I quite liked Buffy vs Dracula. Honestly. I thought it was funny.

Anyway, Fool for Love was the standout for me. No competition. And The Body? Worst. Episode. Ever.

For me, "Fool For Love" is the clear winner.

The episode is one of the finest examples of Buffy's trademark blend of wry comedy, snappy dialogue and poignant angst. The multiple flashbacks are an incredible piece of work on a TV budget, truly cinematic in their execution, and the accompanying fight-scenes are the series' finest. The tube-train/alley cross-cutting is tense and an ingenious stylistic touch, and sums up the tone of the entire episode perfectly. And clinching the deal is the unexpected and tender ending.

Unfortunately, all the subtle character development between Buffy and Spike was jettisoned immediately after this episode's credits rolled, and Buffy never really regained the same mix except briefly with "Once More, With Feeling".

I would have voted for The Weight Of The World but it wasn't even there

The Body is definitely next best, just for the scene shown through the classroom where Dawn finds out Joyce is dead, Michelle is too too amazin'

Crush, the gift, Buff Vs Dracula, intervention, replacement, fool for love all great eps. can't remember all the episode titles but liked all da ones with spike chasing Buffy
