Me and my boyfriend are over. Any tips?
I feel kind of numb...It's been 7 months.

Huge Hugs honey.
It's going to hurt for a while. It's almost like a bereavement, or at least it can be. Wallow a little in your sadness for a while, (this is where the ice cream comes in) but don't let it overwhelm you. And talking about it always helps too.
I'm truly sorry to hear what's happened and you know you have friends here to sympathise with you.

You guys are great. I'm going to see my best friend tommorow. I've been on the phone to her and shes wonderful. I have all my other friends too and we're all in the same social/school group. Me and my ex (wow that sounds weird) have been friends since infant school. And we're still friends. Thing is I've been assured by one of my friends he is giving this guy who knows who I am but I don't know who he is, my phone number already!

Ok here is the whole story. Needless to say I got an ego boost...which was nice.
He said I was too nice, and pretty and social and friendly and that he was a loner who preferred his workshop and his planes.
He also said how everyone though I was gorgeous and gave me a list of people. He said 'Look in the mirror girl! You're gorgeous.'I was like 'Really?' and he rolled his eyes at my insecure-ness. 'On our first double date Dan said how he would sleep you any time and Sam told Daniel he thinks your very fit only he wouldn't dare tell me.' I knew that Dan thought I was fit and sexy already lol. And he knew I kinda had a crush on Dan!!! He said 'Don't you notice other guys looking at you? I do.' He also said how this one guy we both know said that he thought I was a 'man's lady' and how he had 'done very well.'
And how people had said how lucky he was to be going out with me! How I was the prom queen and he was the geek! So...I'm ok. We're still really good friends cos we've known eachother since infant school and we hang in the same group. I'm going over to my best friends house-she's been wonderful.
And I have prospectives dates awaiting me this week.

I would post Philip Larkin's Love Again, but then I'd have to ban myself ...
Keeping the love-lorn moping round the house to a few days maximum and then hitting the town in style is probably the best advice out there.
And beer, much, much beer. The empties will also come in useful with regards to curtailing any Spikesque advances.

He doesn't seem to be much of a "git" though really. From Barbara's post he seems to be very insecure in thinking that sooner or later she'll find someone *better* than him. The fact that they are still friends is a huge bonus. You never know he may blossom into being quite a man as he gets older (of course I have no idea how old he is now
