The Heritage Open Days 2003 are running between the 12th - 15th September

In particular The Newman Brothers Coffin Furniture Factory which was recently featured on BBC2's Restoration programme is opening its doors

Purpose built Grade II* 1892 factory for the manufacture of coffin fittings, complete with shroud room, dye stamping room and stock, on the edge of Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.

Fllw Newhall St from city centre, turn L in Fleet St after St Clod.

Fri 1100-1400 Sat 1100-1700.

No parking on Fleet St.

So that makes just Friday 12th and Saturday 13th September

I saw this one on there the other week (yes I'm a sucker for programmes about fixing things and redecorating things) and it was quite an amazing place. Almost museum like in the way most items had been left inside as they were left when the workers all departed.

Not sure if its of interest to anyone here but worth a shot
