I didn't see it, but i've heard about it, plus i've read reports from the event which pretty much said Jealous Events bit off more than they could chew in organising the event.
Watchdog
Did anyone happen to catch watchdog yesterday? It featured complaints about the David Boreanaz day in Brighton!

There is a thing on the Watchdog Website about it.
There is also a statement from Jealous Events on their boards here.
Make of it what you will.
All I know there are alot of unhappy people out there.

I hope she didn't send that e-mail like that. It's littered with spelling mistakes (au'derves? could she mean hors d'euvres?) and is very badly worded - repeating the same word or phrase several times in one answer.
I kinda knew that the event would be a bit of a bust - it was just way too many people to be anything else.
I do think that sometimes fans over-react though. Going to Watchdog is a bit extreme, when the contract/waiver thingy states that schedule changes may be made etc.
When you have that many people, it stands to reason that not everyone is going to be happy.
As a side note though - I still wouldn't go to any of their events.

I've already covered some bits on this in the original David Boreanaz thread we had up in the convention forum
I think the article on Watchdog was too short to really make a mark on people's opinions. A lot of it was pointed towards DB and not to Jealous Events. It did make me wonder what fans of the show who'd never attended events would think of a piece like this. I can't believe a woman spent close on £650 !!
I never spend that including hotel for 2 of us going to a weekend convention

i spent £900 at EoD and i can only account for 500 and i wasnt drinking and it didnt include the hotel cost. i did complain to watchdog about the hotel i even took pictures but i never heard back from them.
The Jealous Events posting board admin have actually deleted all negative comments regarding the DB event and are instead requesting that people contact them privately with any complaints.
However (as stated in the conventions forum) someone has set up a seperate public board for people to swap stories on, which is HERE
I'm appalled by the first post from the girl who bought the AAA pass.
Sounds like more than just scheduling issues to me, in which case I take back what I said earlier - people had every right to complain.
Hopefully when the JE people get back from LA they'll deal with people's complaints properly - or they may find they had a wasted trip, cos I for one won't be forking for one of their events unless they can guarantee that they'll improve and I'm sure I'm not alone.
This is what happens when people start jumping on the convention bandwagon thinking that there's money to be made.

well if they decide to put the actual blame on stewards and DO in fact decide to hire professionals you can bet the ticket/photo etc prices will be a ton more extorshinate (sp) then they already are with them.
Just spotted something.
This is from Jealous Events official response to Watchdog:
The event attendees really had a great treat as ticket holders, as they are the only people in Europe to have seen for the first time at a U.K event, David Boreanaz, Nicholas Brendon, Krisitine Sutherland and Kelly Donavan, all four guests made their first UK major event appearance.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but did Nick Brendon not appear at N3K? And Kristine Sutherland was at an event as well wasn't she? Was it an Expo - I'm not sure, but I know she definitely did one.
What classes something as a "major event"? More than 5000 attendees? Or possibly more than 5000 complaints?

Nick definatly did an event (N3K? I think it was. 1000 odd attendees) and i think Kristine did an expo. Tho i might be mistaking her with Dawn (forget the real name, sorry! )

Yes,you are right,Nick did do N3k and Kristine did an expo last year or early this year,I cant remember.
I went to the Jealous event,my account of it is in the David Boreanaz thread.
I still havent heard anything from Jealous over my complaint.

I guess it depends on what they are classing as an "event"

Kristine Sutherland was at London Expo which is an event or probably more a "fair". She wouldn't have been doing a talk there but only signing all day
Again David Boreanaz attended a signing in London in 2000 (my FIRST even Buffy star to see) but again it wasn't a talk, JUST a signing
But certainly Nicholas Brendon appeared (albeit it as a last minute guest) at N3K because I witnessed him talking onstage with Joss himself at one point. I also bumped into him several times in the corridor and definitely had an official photo taken. So I'm fairly sure I wasn't halucinating
Maybe they missed out the word 'together' at the end of their statement.....
Reading things like this is one of the reasons why I'd never go to a convention etc. That and I'm not a nerd
