A week is a bit on the short side for Florida really, you'll immediately lose 2 full days out of that from the travel, you need 3 or 4 days days to do Disney properly, only leaving 1 day for anything else..

Both times I've been it was for 2 weeks, even then that was a bit of a squeeze, it really is a long way to go for only a week.. Just my 2p

I went for 3 weeks and that was just about right. You can do it in a fornight (I've done that before) but it near on kills you. You have Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, MGM & 3 water parks just in Disney World itself. Then you have Universal & Islands of Adventure, and a whole host of other parks like Sea World & Wet and Wild plus a day shopping You can get a 5 day hopper pass for Disney which is about £190 (the cheaper way to do it) then you have the other attractions to pay for, car hire & food. I'd say you need at least £1000 to enjoy yourself properly (even with cheap accomodation) as I haven't got £1000 I'd have to pass on this

It sounds like a good idea but as others have said more than a week would be better

Flights are around £450+tax too

Rooms are $40 a night based on 2 sharing (so $20 a night each) at the Quality Inn in I. Drive, Orlando, just for reference

Going for more than one week isn't a problem, I was thinking of going for 2...I was talking to Y about it last night and it would be a cool beginning of October holiday for next year if we could get the peeps together...if we were to do 3 weeks I'd *maybe* be able to get a discount.

I'm off to Hawaii next year and really can't justify two trips to the States I only do two hols a year if I can get them free (like Hawaii - Thank you Delta airlines )
But I never say no (shut it!). If anymore of the oldies die I may get some inheritance or at least the kids will and I'll steal it off them

Personally I like the South of Florida as I was partially raised there - no tourists, more locals, beautiful un crowded beaches, cheaper (unless you go towards Miami) and you can get some great motels!

If it's anything like our family villa it will be 2x double en suite rooms and 2 twin rooms. This seems to be the norm with most of the 8 berth villas out there. You may also find they have double sofa beds in the living rooms. We managed to get 12 in ours.

It's as T says...although theres no limit to the amount of people we take..it's the same price for 1 person as it would be for 12...it would just mean 4 people would have no bed *shrug*

As I say at the moment this is just a thought and I was curious who out of here would be up for this kind of trip...I've never been to America so I'd really like to go and this seems like a cheap way of doing it. At the moment it seems like it's Y, Bipolar & Me that are interested so as I say if anyone else fancies it slap your name down and we can look into booking/confirming around March/April next year.

I could be interested in principle, tho the obvious money and holiday left factors will come in closer to the time.
