I think Notcutts Garden Centres have all their stuff up now too. No, I don't go shopping in garden centres, do I look old? I got that from one of my biznitches
Well, it's October the 1st....
and that can mean only one thing....
It's Chriiiiiiiiiiiistmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaassssss!!!![/Slade]
No, I haven't gone insane (possibly), but today I was looking for crisps, and I went into Sainsburys, and what did I see but a packet of Walkers crisps that were 'Merry Crispmas' flavour! (or Roast Turkey and Paxo flavour to most normal people) But, anyhoo, it was the first of October, so that must mean that it's Christmas! At least I'm guessing that's the way the marketing type people see it...
So has anyone else seen any more Christmassy type stuff appearing already?
Maybe that should be this months smilie? You know, get it out of the way early...

I've seen lots of shops with Christmas themed products in including Pringles and Christmas Puddings.
It's too damn early! Makes Christmas lose it's magic if it's spread out so much.

I think they have actually started to promote christmas a bit later this year, apart from the odd aisle in the supermarkets I haven't really seen anything christmassy yet... and just so you all don't forget it's only
84 Days to go

Yup - I went shopping to Tescos yesterday and they have an aisle FULL of Christmas stuff already - wrapping paper, cards, little stocking filler gifts, xmas puds/cakes, crackers....... the list goes on......

Debenhams used to start going Christmassy at about this time every year.
I dunno about recently, cos I haven't been in the place since I stopped working there.

Rumour has it that somebody near the Uni accomodation I'm staying in actually has their decorations up, and has had them up since I arrived, which would be just under a fortnight...
We start getting out all our xmas stuff at work soon. We have to wear santa hats in October!...Anyways Halloween is before!!!
I've been seeing Christmas stuff in shops since August - including advent calendars. I think Harrods ope their Christmas shop in August too, so they can maximise tourist sales.
I realise that technically it was the 2nd when I posted, but it was 4:30am and it was before I'd gone to bed which in my book makes it the night of the 1st of October And also the events that were described in my post took place on the 1st.

Xmas sucks when you reach a certain age. New year is much more fun. And the reason xmas appears at this time of year? commercialism. Nuff Said. Bah humbug

I bought Christmas cards for the kids to send out today. If we start writing them now we'll be done by the time they break up from school
I've still got a bunch left-over from last year
"Hi, my name is Stoo and I have no friends.."
But still, Halloween first

No offence meant. There was nothing derogatory in my statement. If you choose to sell your soul to satan for a living then that's up to you... (Pure joke by the way, no seriousness meant in that comment!) You are free to do what you want you to do, and I cast no aspersions on you for doing so. Well after all, I'm an engineer and I come from a family of accountants and librarians, so I'm in no place to judge.

He's a liar! He's so malicious and spiteful and mean and nasty and a big bully. Look. No winky eye either
