As for long distance loves I did indeed have one of those, we lived 247 miles apart and managed to keep our relationship going even with the distance, I met him in May 2002 and in January 2003 I moved the 247 miles and moved in with him, here we are ten months later and doing great

Uni relationship which means for half the year we're at opposite ends of the country, but then the other half we live out of the same room.

While holidays are not terribly fun, there is more than enough time in term to keep a relationship going, so it's not quite the same as a permanent long distance relationship.

Yup, my boyfriend is at Uni in south east Kent and I'm in East Norfolk It sucks. Cheesy moment: But when we are together for a mere 2 days its like nothing can come between us. Love does really make the heart grow fonder

Put it this way, I lived in north Scotland, and moved for someone that lived in Bournemouth, doesn't get any further than that. Sadly it didn't work out. But we're still great friends.

As the song says, if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with

But seriously, long distance relationships can work - i was seeing a girl who moved back to Scotland and we were together for a year after she'd moved. Just depends how you feel and how much you both want it to work

Didn't work out for me, but that was due to relationship issues more than the distance. Distance made me realise if you know what I mean.

But it can work if you are both committed.

I'm in a Long Distance Relationship.
Met online on a W&T board.
She's in Texas.

Good to know those that have worked out worked out.

Guess that means I'm not insane or we're all insane.

I'm pretty sure I'm the former.

You're definately a lost sailor cause I know for a fact you're on dry land hehe. Be off with you! Long distance (not to mention unconventional) relationships can definately work (as we both know) 9 months and counting

I think it depends on the person if a long distance relationship works (note I am pissed as I write this but I think i'm making more sense than normal) No matter waht its always going to be hard, but as long as you are both truly in love and are devoted and can bare to be so far apart I don't see why it can't work. It'll jsut be very hard. But go for it, see what happens.

Although, I have tried it twice before....

.....and bombed both times.

I think it all depends on how much you trust each other, or if you're gonna convince yourself they're doing something because you're not around.

Had a relationship with someone where we only saw each other at the weekends which worked, as we spent all week with our friends but got to see each other at the weekend Guess everyone is different though

im at uni in salford and my boyfriend's at home in the wirral. even this amount of distance sucks, but i just keep thinking that i'm pretty lucky in comparison to some people's situations
i've seen him probably as much as i would do if i had have been at home
my last relationship, my boyfriend lived in leeds and we managed to stay together for like 9 months or something, so yeah

It helps when one of you will drive for 5-6 hours on a Friday night just to spend less than 12 hours with you

Not seen Dan for three weeks and its nearly killed me! *sigh* Still, its all worth the wait

I'm too high maintenance and in need of attention for long distance relationships. I like hands on, 24/7 attention (giving as well as receiving ). If I don't get that I get bored and tend to wander.......
