Ah yes, it was the Clydach murders (Mandy Power etc). That case gets weirder and weirder. And then there was the Cardiff three (they have the right chappie behind bars now, thanks to new forensic techniques etc)...
Re Mandy Power - she wasn't the police wife, her lover (the first person to be detained in connection with the murder) was, as far as I recall.
Though I feel I must say that dodgy convictions probably happen in England too; we're not just a corrupt lawless backwater! Seriously though, every so often it seems a different force has wrongdoings uncovered in it - I think it was the West Midlands (serious crime squad?? I forget, it's my advanced age...) lot when I was a young 'un. Doesn't give you much confidence, does it? *sigh*
