Firewire??? Help Before I Cry
I recently bought a digi camcorder. Now I realise I can't connect it to my PC. I have two cables, both of which plug into the camcorder. One is a 4 pin firewire cable and one is a 6 pin. Thing is I have nowhere to plug either into the back of the computer.
I sort of did a search and came to the conclusion that I need a firewire port or something. I'm hoping this isn't the case 'cos I looked at prices and see they are approx £80!
Please can someone help me?

The card bit goes inside the pooter, then the actual plugin points take up one of the slots on the back (hopefully there'll be one spare )

Inside the computer? But where will it stick out? (stop laughing I'm not in the mood )

Yes. It looks like I have slots
Just follow the neat little pictures in the manual and follow all the steps and you'll be just fine

This one went to £16 last time I looked so I got one on buy now for £15. If I managed to fit more memory to my other computer I'll manage this won't I?
Note: If you see sparks coming from your machine when plugging the card in..... you forgot to unplug it from the wall socket
It's arrived! Gonna try to install it all after the school run. If I'm not back by 5ish I've broken my computer. See y'all on the other side..............
I got it all fitted in but when I restarted the computer it didn't ask me anything about drivers like the book said it would. Now the bloody thing won't work. Will I need to download a driver and if so where from?
Hmm... if it's plugged in properly (into the slot fully, there should be very little copper showing above the slot, if any, and it shouldn't move too much), it should show that popup window and either ask you for drivers, or that it's installing them (if it didn't need any).
Have you got a brand/model number for googling?
(Yes I know how a bit of text up there reads.. damned perverts )
