LOL, I wonder what my Dad'd think of this story, as he often tends to find this kind of thing pretty funny, but then again his girlfriend is an (unofficially ex) Mormon... (or rather, technically a member of 'The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints' but is that Mormons in general? I'm not sure... *shrug*)

You're one up on me because I've never been there. And no, I'm not saying anything is wrong with Billings. I mean, how would I know? It's just that Billings, Montana, is such an out-of-the-way place, and the Billings Gazette is such an obscure paper (I guess, unless you live in Montana) that it surpised me that someone in the UK would have a link to it and be discussing an article in it. I don't know, maybe it's just me. It just seemed kind of funny.

As for the Mormons, I don't agree with what they're doing as explained in the article. But I don't think about Mormons an awful lot. There are Mormon missionaries that spread out from the Utah "homeland" across the U.S. to try to convert the rest of us non-Mormon heathens into their religion.

They've set up a headquarters (or whatever) in the town I live in (which is thousands of miles from Mormon territory in the West)and you see them walking around, always in pairs--young, white, teen or twentysomething young men wearing black pants and black ties with crisp white shirts and black and white name tags. They're usually fresh out of places such as Montana or Wyoming or Utah, and have never been around people unlike themselves in their whole lives. So coming to a community like mine in the East where there are Latinos and Asians and blacks, they have no experience with that--and they look about as out of place as anyone can look. While making their rounds, pairs of them have knocked on my door, offering me a free copy of the Book of Mormon and trying to engage me in a conversation on my religious beliefs--or in my case, lack thereof. I've talked to them, just to hear what they have to say--and because I didn't want to be rude and shut the door in their faces. I've even offered them a cool drink when they've come around in mid-summer because no human being should walk around in black pants and a shirt and tie when it's 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside. But, no sale here...

I'm sure it's a secret cloning experiment, they all look pretty much identical

And Alan, I've also looked at my share of obscure newspapers just to see what's happening in some other parts of the world. It's fun. You beat me to the Billings Gazette, though.
