Good Lord, what has Cambridge come to...
... because they've only gone and offered me a place to read history.
Horrifying! I'll be lobbying my GP, MP, MEP and anyone else with letters after their name over this disgrace. There goes the neighbourhood. (Sorry Dem!)

Posted: 20:41 Jan 02 2004 Gown is also useful for that little matter of matriculation... (But don't listen to what the master tell you - you haven't matriculated until you have eaten of the van of death at an ungodly hour. Most students manage this is fresher's week.)

Been looking over what I need to equip myself with (aside from a bicycle and surfeit of false modesty). Apparently I have to shop for a gown if I ever want to eat at Cambridge (and let's face it, you haven't lived until you've dined on roast swan). "It's okay, it's just like Hogwarts," said one of the students at the open day.
Oxbridge education egh?

I think there's a CAMRA festival on down Cam way before October, so I can get a headstart on that part of the initiation.

Desperate as I was to follow in Jeffrey "Lord" Archer's missteps, I'm afraid the place is at Emmanuel College.
