We had loads of it fall with thunder and lightening - never heard of that before

but oh so pretty and oh so cold.....

jealous! we had random hail, sleet, rain, heavy snow then bright sunshine this afternoon! Crazy weather! Its gone FREEZING now though so if it snows again tonight I think (hope) it'll stick! x

I awoke this morning to brilliant white snow outside about 3 or 4 inches thick. And it started snowing again this afternoon.

It's so cold!

It started snowing again at about 2pm here and snowed for about 4 hours. The whole of Norwich was gridlocked. Last year, my sixth form was the only school in Norwich to stay open! If it snows heavier tomorrow, I'm definatley going back to bed. It took my mum about 2 hours to go 7 miles.

Should have stayed at home. Finally managed to get to work at lunchtime.

Having had word that snow was on it's way, my colleague & I decided on an early exit as we didn't want to get stuck in it like last year. At 4:30pm Barnet was experiencing nothing worse than a bit of rain. Less than 5 miles up the road the situation changed suddenly. By the time I reached the M25 it was snowing quite hard and about 2 miles on everything stopped... Bugger.

I finally made it home (all 25 miles) 3 hours later and my colleague who lives another 10-12 miles North of me (just the other side of Stansted) got home at 9:10pm.

I'll take a long hard look at the weather before considering the journey tomorrow.

Snow is lovely when you're looking at it in front of a nice warm fire.

When you're travelling to Cam tomorrow, less so. Guy Burgess once commented that the Moscow winter was a welcome break from Cambridge.

It took us the best part of 90mins to drive (erm make that crawl!) a 15mins journey from the hospital to home. I'm gathering there were a lot of either very slow tedious drivers, or judging by the many emergency vehicles - a lot of accidents The problem with round here is its a bit of a loop, all the roads interlock in one way or another

No college today!

I was stuck in work last night (fortunately Nationwide is a VERY good company to work for and they reopened the kitchens and gave everyone a free dinner) listening to the local radio telling us that the roads were screwed.

I decided to leave just before 9pm, it was 9:30pm by the time my car was ready to go (it could have been longer - thank God for heated windscreens) and I got home just before 1am... it's usually a 25-30 minute drive. Fortunately I had food, water, CDs etc but by the time I got home I was dying for the loo!

I now have the day off work because I can't get out of my crappy little town

gosh! But at least you have a day off.

My dad works for Nationwide too and loves them!

Silly how a bit of snow makes the country chaos ridden, I'm sure other snow-ey countries are all having a good laugh!

My day off is going very nicely and I'm tempted to run outside and make snow angels

The road chaos up here where we've actually had more snow seems nothing compared to reports I've heard from down south. There's no way it should have taken you as long as it did to get home yesterday at that time of night regardless of the weather conditions!!!

Well Len's class last night had 4 people in it instead of it's usual 30....

He braved the roads this morning to go to the shops and one woman said a normal 30 min journey home took her 5 hours!!

just dug out our driveway, ice over 2 inches thich at the bottom of about 8 inches of snow lol, yes the other side of the road only have about 2 inches of snow in total lol

Yep school's officialy closed today - not that I would have gone in, its getting thicker, reaching 3/4 up my knees. I love snow

I was hopin for a good 8" last night ..... of SNOW!

But nope just horrible ice today snow has all gone bye byes
