There's this stuff called Zoff, available in both pads and liquid which dissolves the sticky stuff pretty rapidly, should do the trick
Plastered!
I've been hooked up a heart monitor for 36hrs and have had numerous ECGs over that time period too (I'm not ill. All is cool.) The thing is after I removed the sticky pads I'm covered in that nasty sticky grey stuff that plasters leave behind. I've just scrubbed myself red raw in the bath and they're not going. Does anyone know the best way to get rid of this residue.
My mum once told me to use butter (and I can't believe I'm sharing this with you. Laugh at me and I'll kick you in the shins ) so before my bath I covered my 'chest' in butter and tried to rub it off. It didn't work. All that happened was that I got all greasy which is not nice unless greasy boobs do it for ya
So anyone have any other ideas? Not mean made up ones to see how stupid I can be - hee hee.

Boots, or another chemist, maybe superdrug as well?
I think it'd be okay for sensitive skin, it'd certainly be no worse than scrubbing yourself raw trying to get it off..

Last time I was in hospital I found a pad stuck to my back three days after I was discharged
Nail varnish remover is what i've found works best for plaster residue. (also on other things where there's a stickey resudue, except plastic, it'll cloud the finish)
But if you have scrubbed raw it's gonna hurt like a bitca!
Or, in 24 days the top layer of skin totally renews itself. for the very top to come off should take only 3-5 days so you could just wait and rub off in the shower.

when i was in hospital the same thing happened to me with the tape they stuck on my eveytime they took blood.
I put some vaseline on it at night and then when i woke up in the morning, had a shower and the stuff came off much easier it seemed

I'm a bit late to this, but surgical spirit is probably best for doing that - acetone can give you very nasty burns if you aren't dead careful...
Yeah, but the stuff in nail varnish remover is pretty weak, and seeing as it's used on an area with skin I very much doubt that there would ever be a problem
Not necessarily. I once, because I was talking to my mum and being distracted, used nail varnish remover instead of the cleanser and toner I thought I had in my hand... my face was very red and burny for ages after, and I'm lucky I noticed before trying to use it to get my eyeshadow and mascara off...

I thought that was white spirit the first time I read it! EEK!

You're probably right it is safer, but would probably take longer. TCP would also probably do it (do they even make that any more?)
As for cleansing the face, facial skin is a lot more sensitive, both in it's thickness (or comparitive thinness) and the number of nerve endings per cm2.
You're lucky, had it been my face i would have scabbed over and had ecxema for weeks! Thakkfully the rest of my bod isnt so alergic to stuff. Superglue for example it great for closing cuts. no plasters, no reopening and it just "grows" out. couldnt do that with a facial cut though (and i in no way advocate anyone else trying, do it at your own risk!)
Glad it worked T, i was once covered in plaster residue too, not nice, especially when fibers start to stick and it goes yucky blackish! and the plaster sticks to itself in joints like elbows.
