RIP Lucky
As i told a few people on Friday, my cat was going to the vet and I thought it would be a one-way trip.
It was I got a text off my sis on Saturday morning to say she'd been put to sleep. I went back to my department and just cried for ages.
I went to see her on Friday night to pay my last respects and it was heartbreaking. She was a shadow of the cat she used to be. She used to be a real fattie, and when I picked her up for a cuddle she was a skeleton.
She was sat on the kitchen floor looking miserable and tried to move, but her back legs wouldn't support her. She couldn't even purr anymore and looked like she was having trouble breathing.
I know it was for the best to have her put to sleep, but I miss her so much, she's been with us since I was 8 years old and I feel so empty inside.
I try not to think about it, but I keep imagining how she was on Friday night. I wonder if she knew it was the end, and what she must have been feeling when the vet did what he did, it chokes me up.
Some people say, it's just a pet, but I can't seem to see it like that, I just feel like I want to cry all the time
All in all, I think I need major huggles

Awwww!! Hun, sorry to hear about your cat. Its awful when a pet dies. You get so attached to them and they become a part of everyday life.I have a dog who's 15 now and she is going down hill rapidly it's so sad to see. I know how you must be feeling. I hope you are feeling happier soon sending lots of hugs your way.
Big hugs to you.
Your post made me want to cry. I'm very much a cat person - we had nine cats at one time. As I've said before I've got 'Mug' stamped on me in cat sign language - I'm always being accosted by strange Moggies. We're down to two at the moment and they are both very old, so I know the inevitable will happen soon. Doesn't make it any easier however.
Your cat was obviously suffering, though, so at least she's free from that.

Aww *hugs*
I know how you feel. This happened with our pet dog about a year and a half ago. He just moved around so slowly and didn't want to go out to walk any more. He'd always been very bright and energetic and he changed so suddenly. His kidneys had failed and he had to be put to sleep

It always hurts to lose a pet you love like that, i know how you are feeling. It will get better, and until it does *very big hugs* to you.
Awww, sorry to hear this Miss Kitty.
IMO, the relationship you have with your pet is likely to be only perfect relationship people ever have, and it's just too bad they don't live as long as we do. Take care...

Huggles to you all
Its a bit late, but I thought I would add my hugs to the pile. I know how horrible it is losing a pet. All I can say to you is that it was for the best from what I can tell. Its going to be hard for a while, but it will gradually get better.
You have all of us to make you feel better until then
