So, as I'm sure at least some of you know, Mark & Lard did their last ever show on Radio 1 this Friday just gone. So I thought I'd create a thread to commemorate this occasion. I know it's a bit late, but hey, it is me doing it...

Now, I know that there's plenty of people out there who coun't give a toss about it, but Mark & Lard have been a part of my life (to some extent) since I was at school, so the fact that they're now no more is quite sad.

I remember listening to 'Bird or Bloke' as I drove to school. I remember, before I started listening to them, one of my friends used to always quote bits to me at random. I remember being at work and hearing them giving a 'Biggedy Biggedy Bong to everyone going to see Iron Maiden tonight' on the day I was, well, going to see Iron Maiden!

The last show was very, very cool. (If you missed it you can hear it all (apart from the last 5 minutes ) here) It was emotional and poigniant whilst still managing to be very upbeat and funny. There were some great tributes from various people. Even Travis impressed me with their 'Ode to Mark and Lard'. And Coldplay came up with a new, and I think definitive version of Candle in the Wind! And at the end, they did 'half a catchphrase' and then "forgot" to hand over to Sara Cox in London so there was a few minutes of dead air followed by the emergency DAT kicking in!

Anyhoo, I'm babbling on, and I'm probably the only person on here who liked them and this thread's probably gonna get filled up with "They were pants, glad they're gone!" replies, but hey-ho...

So, to Messrs Radcliffe and Riley, wherever they are right now, I'd like to say COD FISH BATTERED BALLS!!
