Browsing BBC news and, due to recently getting my eyebrow pierced, this article caught my eye(no pun intended) news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3610379.stm

Does nothing for me. At all.

Contacts really aren't a problem. I got mine purely for practical, rather than cosmetic, reasons. Playing concerts under spot-lights was a real pain because of the heat and I got fed up with my glasses falling down my nose. However when I lost my lens earlier in the year I didn't bother arranging to get a new one for six weeks and quite happily wore my glasses during the interim.

Personally I think that's just nasty

Not cool, you only get one set of eyes and doing something to them for fashions sake is just plain stupid.

Ditto! Ever answered the "would you rather go blind or deaf?" question - because I've always said I'd rather go deaf due to the fact my eyes would be of more importance to me - I like to "see" things and at least in this day and age you can communicate visually through sites like this.

It took me a long time to even use eye drops as I'm such a blinker with those and an awful long time to attempt contact lenses, which I can't be arsed to use because they get too smokey and irritable.

If someone wants to be stupid enough to get eye jewellry than that's their problem (but I doubt I could stomache looking them in the eye )

I just think this is a dangerous idea.

You just don't mess around with your eyes. Hell, I'd love to be able to see properly without glasses but I couldn't even consider laser surgery because I would be too worried about it going wrong.

That is absolutely disgusting.... I'm very very squeamish where eyes are concerned which is why i wouldn't wear contact lenses if i ever need them <shudder>. Yuk!
