What's your current job? Sorry, just curious...
Jobs online?
Could anyone help me out and tell me some good job searching sites. I think its finally time I got a new job. Cheers
i'm a part time office cleaner, been doing it fro 7 years since I left school, so its deffinitley time for a change and about time I got into the real world. I have no idea where to start though. Been to a few sites but most jobs need qualifications or experience
You could get another job where little qualifications needed and do evening classes to get more qualifications to work your way up. Try your local paper for jobs and google.
sadly most online job sites always either want experience or qualification (or worse yet pboth) but when you have the experience they dont want you coz you dont have the qualifications and when you have the qualifications they want the experience - but no one is ever willing to give you chance! i've unemployed for over a year now (not including odd jobs and the cinema but they sacked me after three weeks which was totally unfair but what can ya do *shrug* ) mainly because i refuse to go back to sales assistant but despite a year study in a diploma no one will take me on because i dont have at least 6 months experience.
(another reason why i want this pub so bad.)

The job market isn't good. I've got qualifications, and experience, but I've found I'm either overqualified or my experience means I'm too old to take up a junior position in an alternative field.
Knowing someone can help. See if friends and family know of any vacancies in their place of work, and see if they can then "put in a good word for you".
A former colleague of mine offered me a job at his new place of work, and then shortly an old colleague of HIS offered him a new job.
Remember it's as much WHO you know as what you know.

I'd have to agree with Mon here..it's all about connections. I wouldn't have the job I have now if it wasn't for connections I made years ago. Ask family & friends, there's always someone that knows of a job somewhere. And if you feel like relocating to Liverpool I can get ya a 20hr a week job up here..you'd have to be sensible though

Monster.co.uk is another good one. The best one I ever found was s1jobs.com but thats Scottish.
I know what you mean about not being able to get a job. I've just done a law degree and got over 3 years of experience doing admin type and legal secretary work while studying and I still can't get a job. The term i've been getting is over qualified and under experienced. Wish someone had told me this before I started studying.

the easiest jobs to get are sales assisants job. The pay can be pretty dire and it's either hard work or really, really boring plus you have lots of stupid customers to deal with. I'm working 8 more Saturdays and then I can leave which I am so looking forward to.
The day I have to get a job is the day I may kill myself. I like being a kept woman (and before *you* comment I'm not on benefits either. I saw the email.)
I have no idea who you are, but that's probably the most self centered thing I've ever heard in my entire life. Still, good luck with that.

Monster.co.uk, fish4jobs.co.uk, jobserve.com and a VERY good site - reed.co.uk (they circulate CVs etc to other agencies).
Personally, I've always used online job sites, and my last 2 jobs have been organised through them.
Thank you. And as I have no idea (or really care) who you are I don't give a stuff

That's fine. Out of interest, why does the idea of not working make you want to take your own life?

'Cos yeah, I *really* would kill myself

Oh, I'm sorry, I should realise when you say you'll do something, it actually means you won't do anything.

Still, why do you not want a job?
DO people often come onto public boards that they've been a member of since the begining and have plenty of friends on here and threaten to kill themselves? I think not.
Not that I have to justify myself but I don't want a job just 'cos I don't. I'm not being a burden on the government, I keep myself busy around the house all day. I have no time for a job. If the day comes and I *have* to get one then I will (unless I stumble across a bottle of paracetamol first). It's not that I'm afraid of work but why do it when you don't have to?
