You're so funny! ... if "funny" is code for "stupid"

Oh, I'm sorry, I should realise when you say you'll do something, it actually means you won't do anything.
Jobs online?
Could anyone help me out and tell me some good job searching sites. I think its finally time I got a new job. Cheers
Out of interest, since when was it your business?

Out of interest, why does the idea of not working make you want to take your own life?
Just FYI, some mothers of young children prefer to be at home with them. As a working mother I have to say that if the choice was mine, I'd do the same.
As for the "kill myself" remark. Ever heard of a "figure of speech"?
By the way, your profile suggests you joined T21 today and to date have only made the three posts that appear on this thread. Are you in the habit of joining message boards and communities for the sole purpose of attacking it's members?
by Gossi The Dog
I have no idea who you are, but that's probably the most self centered thing I've ever heard in my entire life. Still, good luck with that.
I didn't see an attack...

Can we just leave it now? 'Cos I'm hurting from laughing at peoples concerns into my life. Yes, I'm lucky with the respect that I don't have to work but who else would if they didn't have to?
No, it was a friendly exchange of assumptions and critique. I do not stand corrected. Anything else - off the boards please, let's not be antagonistic.

SPIKE good luck with the job hunt, babe
Well, I've joined T21 approximately an hour ago and I've been accused of attacking somebody.
Uhm
That's brilliant, I will recommend this forum to my friends now. Not.
I find some of the replies worrying.
I was actually just curious. I didn't know Teresa had a child. If I was in the same situation with a child, I would do the same thing. No, really, I would.
Of course, I now regret having actually bothering to sign up.
Thanks for being hostile to the newbie,
Gossi.

*Sigh*
Gonna take the grown up option.
I'm sorry that your first day at T21 seems a bit crappy. I realise that you didn't know I was a stay at home mum not a person just being lazy for the sake of it (well a little sometimes )
As I've said before, I've never been career minded and it doesn't bother me. I worked for 10 years before I had the kids.
I like to use my time for the boys (5 & 7). We cook, paint, do gluey stuff, have after school activities and suchlike. In the daytime I do my housework (sometimes - hee hee) and get stuff prepared for when they get out of school. If I was working 9 - 5 we wouldn't be able to do 1/2 of this. I won't have childminders bringing up my children ('tho Nanny is very valuable if I want to go out in the evenings) and because of this i have two very well adjusted little boys (the eldest being top of his class and breezing through his SATs right now). I'd rather put my family before a job.
Please don't let this thread put you off the site. T21 has found me some great friends (a couple you met above this post ) and is generally cool.
P.S. And before anyone else starts I'm not knocking working mothers It's just not for me.

Hah, busted. Ok, so I am an old BUK'er, and I knew of this place, but I never really bothered visiting much or posting.
by KaTiEStar
Do you count as a newbie? as you're actually an oldie?
And I hate the word busted now - reminds me of the band (spew).

Well, apologies and all, but it's not usually a good to pounce on people for their lifestyle choices especially when you have no idea about who they are or what their reasons might be.
Teresa is a popular member, so naturally her friends will be offended by any perceived attack.
That being said, T has aquitted herself better than some of us () and I hope now that's out of way, you'll keep coming.
Oh dear Kev aka Gossi.. your doing that thing again where you persume.
Most Mothers do not want to work as they would tend to miss the important things in life i.e seeing their child's first movements so on so forth. it is a mothers responsiblity to be there for their child 24/7. so in full that is why most mothers do not work

Thanks stoo...i *so* am not gonna sleep with that image in my head!
At regular intervals there are often news stories listing out the equivalent wage that a stay at home mother should earn (for insurance evaluations normally) and as someone who duplicates for a cook, cleaner, nanny, educating, creating, etc etc ... they do a lot of hours in a week!!!

Spike, there's one that the local radio station has online that might help www.jobsin.co.uk/
Try your local agencies as most of those should do permanent positions and can keep your information on file whilst you are looking.
Also a lot of big companies now have online job sections on their websites. If you have any companies in mind in your area, try doing a google search or if you know their sites take a visit to see if they have online info.
