There's two on Grainger Street in Newcastle (a Forbidden Planet and a Travelling Man), but you'd probably be wanting something a bit closer.

Forbidden Planet also has a subscription service for comics and will send them through the mail. I've never tried it myself, so I don't know how quick it is: www.forbiddenplanet.com/index2.html

Just a few minutes walk from the train station.

The Travelling Man is shiny and new, and is the first one you'll come to from the direction of the station. The FP is a few doors further on the same side of the street.

As i live just outside of Newcastle, i can tell you that Forbidden Planet in the city is easy to find. If you get the train to the Central Station, cross the road, turn right, walk for a few yards or so then follow the road that turns left and keep going, you'll hit "Travelling Man" (which i literally just discovered has opened two weeks ago and have yet to visit) and then Forbidden Planet. It has a pretty impressive comic book/graphic novel collection at the back of the store

theres a tiny little place near the post office parcel collection place in Sunderland too.. dunno what it's called, but my boyfriend used to go there for comics

If you have a decent connection and a torrent client you can always try zcultfm.com...

Been there, done that, swore lots at the sucky download speed this uni wireless network gets (try a high average of 3kbps on for size)...

In that case I must have been there in its first days of opening. I thought it had a wider selection of comics than the FP, arranged at the front of the store. Wasn't looking at graphic novels at the time, so I can't say what that situation was like.
