This is where my heart swells with patriotic pride 
I wish I had thought of this Tshirt idea while I was living in Ireland this summer! While I was away the only flag that I saw was ours! Not Spain, not UK, not Portugal, not Germany, no not even the states.... simply the good ol' red and white with the familar maple leaf. We wear our flag disguised as pins, badges, on hats, on tshirts and sweaters... you name it, we love it. I've even met Americans who pretended to be Canadians. When I corrected people who thought I was American, they seemed to mean it when they said "oh SORRY!". American roommates told me that people would frown when they said where they were from (maybe thats because its an election year in the states, I dunno. *shrug*)
When I wore my Canadian pin I felt safe and had no fears of anybody stealing my backpack off my back. I mean, REALLY, who would steal from a Canadian. Sheesh.
Guess we're just too cool lol
BTW, our Prime Minister is Paul Martin
And, for the record, I heard more non-Canadians say "eh?" this summer than I have ever heard before. I do NOT say "eh?" and I do not know any Canadians who do

The whole idea of buying a kit with a T-shirt, lapel pins and so on might be new, but Americans have been passing themselves off as Canadians for years in places overseas where it's just easier and safer to not be known as an American. American journalists do this a lot when they have to report from countries where, because of US policies, Americans might have a harder time getting by.
I think it might be hard to do if you have any kind of in-depth encounter with people. But people tend to look at surface stuff, and to people outside North America, Americans and Canadians probably look and sound pretty much alike. Of course that's not the case if you know what to listen for. And it's especially not the case when you're dealing with unusual regional accents in the US or Canada. But I don't think most people look into it that closely.
What I find most interesting is the Americans who have decided to move to Canada because they're just fed up with the turn in the political climate in the US in recent years. One of my closest friends is among them. Their (she and her husband) decision to move to Canada was based purely on their disgust with the political climate and US policies since Bush came into office. They applied for permanent residency in Canada and recently got it. (By the way, it's not easy to do. Canada is very selective about who they'll let in.)
My friends are selling their house in California and moving to British Columbia. They're not giving up their American citizenship, but for them I think Canada seems much more civilized and sane at the moment. The place where they live in California is wonderful, but I can definitely see their point in doing what they've done.

I adored Due South... i really miss that show... it should be released on DVD... i'd buy it in a heartbeat 
Posted: 09:39 Dec 13 2004 It actually is out on DVD. I just checked the Barnes and Noble website and they're selling the first, second, and third seasons. The DVD set for each season is about $123.00, which seems expensive to me.

I'm technically challenged, so I don't know whether DVDs have to be produced for players in certain regions, like VHS tapes. But if you want to buy the series, I guess it's worth looking into.

So make sure your DVD player is Multi Regional. A lot are these days.....
And Eddie Izzard mentioned it in his Dressed To Kill stand up show. He says septic tanks should either pretent to be Canadian or mention Shaggy and Scooby.
