Had split loyalties this time. Traditionally I am a light blue supporter, but the Oxford cox was a home town boy.
In your face the Tabs!!!
*hem* Commiserations to Cambridge on losing the Boat Race. Good effort, chaps.

I'm traditionally a light blue supporter, but hats off to Oxford -- bloody fast time, especially considering how fat they were

i don't have any preference over who wins, and to be honest....ive no interest in the boatrace at all, i feel a bit bemused by all the fuss! am i the only one who doesn't actually care?
Nope.. I don't care either...I was actually in Putney on Sunday and could have went and watched but I found a freshly painted wall instead

I guess you don't see watching sweaty men fun though. Or do you...?
The only reason I ended up watching was because it was on in the house I was visiting, otherwise I never bother.

We were discussing how it's just a big hype for a whole 17 minutes of race, especially as it's only a 50-50 chance of who wins.
Although I did joke that Oxford would win and nearly got my head bitten off
I was surprised that ITV had the rights this year (isn't it always BBC? - if so that's another they have lost out on traditionally)
Indeed, it always was the Beeb - ITV snatched it from them this year.

And no, I'm not surprised that most people outside Oxford and Cambridge (and probably most of the ones inside) don't much care about it - but there again, I don't much care about England football results, but people still post about them
Actually, the Beeb didn't lose the TV rights to the boat race, but chose not to pursue them due to a clash over sponsorship of the race, least I remember something along those lines a little while ago.
And I'm another one who wasn't the slightest bit interested, but then I wasn't fussed about the 6 nations either. Each to their own, and all that.

Big tradition. Men in boat, rowing, mmmmm

To be honest I know nothing about it at all!
Well played, and all that. It's the taking part which is important, blah, blah, blah
Had vague ideas of going up to London for the day, but too lazy when it got to it, and one of my housemates was still too drunk to move. In the end I didn't even see it on the tv, because we don't have a television signal.
Oxford can keep its over-muscled beefcakes
