I think jealousy is incredibly negative. If you are dissatisfied with your life then do positive things to change it not get self-absorbed in negativity.
I have a problem with shows like Cribs because it shows people with fabulous homes and possessions often gained with seemingly little effort. It values people only on what ‘stuff’ they own whilst at the same time raising material expectations that most people can never achieve.
If you are unhappy with an aspect of your life it is easy to think that having all that stuff is bound to make you happier and be jealous as a result. Jealousy masks the true problems denying you the opportunity to put it right.

That being said, there are people who I greatly admire and would dearly like to “walk a mile in their shoes”. Dave Grohl for example. He was in one of the most influencial bands in rock history, played every instrument on the first Foo Fighters album, writes great songs, acts, is funny, handsome… hey, if I was jealous I’d hate him
