That really is a beautiful photo. Thank you so much for posting that Red.
New York Photo
This URL was given to me by Maffrew and the picture now sits on my desktop. For those that haven't seen the Twin Towers of light in New York ... take a look. It's a wonderful photo.

That's really beautiful It's nice to see such a peaceful image come out of such terrible destruction.
Wow, that's a really cool picture. The New York skyline was always cool anyway, but now it's even more interesting and beautiful.
Thanks for that! As soon as I get a computer (should be very soon) it'll be my background too!

Got it set as my wallpaper now
its certainly stunning.. I have some of a month after the aftermath. My daughter went..she said it was really eerie.
Pah! I don't know much about art, but I know what I like and it certainly isn't this. The 'towers' weren't blinking by any chance?
Still, shouldn't wonder if the installation art afficionados give it some kind of award...

do you think the two beams will be a yearly memorial?
do you think the two beams will be a yearly memorial?
It's just temporary. I think I heard that it will only be up for about a month.

On the other hand, if Rae means 'will they make it a yearly occurence?', the fact that they couldn't wait a full year for the initial turn on mitigates against that supposition.
It's sad, really. Either the US government were afraid people would have forgotten/become jaded about the attacks after a year, or they needed a spectacular show right about now, to jolly people along. How many people have six-month anniversaries?
(coincidentally, we celebrated our actual seventh anniversary on March 11th, without using enough electricity to... do you know, try as I might, I can't find a figure for how much this stunt is costing?)

well its a pretty cheap alternative in comparison to the $800 million it cost to build the original towers.

Just found out that they are using 88 bulbs, although how powerful these are I am not sure.
