Anything to add about the topic there milky?

When he was dieing I was arguing on a thread that people should show respect for someone on their death bed and not use the event of his death to criticize him. Now his death is in the past I think it is the time to review his time critically. He did some great things and his role in the fall of communism should not be forgotten. However there were some very obvious problems (like calling women who had been raped evil for having an abortion). I would prefer to try and remember the good things he did and hope the church acts to change the bad things (but with this new pope there is little chance of that).

But Sainthood???????? Surely this is a sick joke? Do the people in Africa with Aids get to vote on if he is made a Saint?

I don't agree with people being made saints full stop. Most of the people who deserve to be saints wouldn't want to be glorified anyway.
