I stuck a tape in this afternoon when we went out to go food shopping, and I'm listening to Radio 1 on the way back going cool Keane, can't wait to watch the tape when I get back .... long story short guess which twit didn't realise it skipped to BBC1 after a certain time They were one of the only a handful of bands I wanted to see on the UK show.

Thought Madonna was a bit pompus insisting everyone clapped. She moves well though Still love her songs, but she sounds a bit flat live without all the pretty musical and video events.

Gutted I missed Ricky Gervais (he was hilarious on Rossy las night) doing the dance.

Looking forward to seeing The Who and Pink Floyd now. Then I'm hoping to watch as much of the US show afterwards as I want to see Linkin Park and Will Smith as I enjoyed the clip of Summertime they were showing *that's* how to work a crowd

She's absolutely awful!! And the way she was demanding water and a mic stand while on stage. She's the biggest fake there!

Now, Robbie, at leasts he's putting on an excellent set! Shame David Beckham introduced him.

No, not kidding at all. She has a wonderful voice and i love that song. At least she said thanks for the water Was a bit off, demanding the stuff, but it was a great song

As for Robbie, i have issues with him that run deep and have never liked him or any of his songs.

Just my two penneth

She might be a cow of a diva, but she's got a cracking voice.

Equally, Robbie might be a (fairly) good showman, but he comes off as an arrogant, drunken lout of a git.

Both have their pros and cons

And they could have had Rush play! One of the biggest rock acts to have come out of Canada who play an awesome live set!

Loved that set from The Who, best pair of songs so far in the whole show. Great stuff.

Agreed, The Who rocked. Bit like watching a double bill of CSI on Living TV though

I would have liked to have heard maybe Who Are You and Pinball Wizard, but The Who have such an amazing number of great songs, choosing the CSI tunes meant the young people that don't know them (and unfortunately, most young people don't know bands like The Who and Pink Floyd ) will know the songs, even if they aren't familiar with The Who.

Shame on them! I can stand in shops or discos singing along to a wide range of music from the 50s onwards (yes I'm probably getting old but at least I don't stick with one brand of stuff!)

Mariah Carey - pfft for some reason I found I bought one of her 7" records when it was the Woolworths sale for 10p, it was one of her early ones when she was neither famous nor diva'ish and probably managed to keep her clothes on more First time in hours I turned the tv over ...

Robbie rocked, I used to think he was a prat offstage, but regardless of that he can definitely turn it on onstage. That's the way a gig should be worked

Jesus, I know this may be considered sacriligous by some people but this Pink Floyd set is killing the mood, seriously!! You need to have the crowd going by the end of the show!! Not sending them to sleep!

Definitely agree.

The Who had the crowd absolutely motoring and then the Floyd set put them on a right downer. Should have been put the other way around.

Those of you with SKY could've watched the Philadelphia gig live by pressing the red button and choosing that gig... (if you haven't done so already)

Loved Rob Thomas and also Keith Urban was rather good too.

Haven't seen much of the London show but what i've seen, Velvet Revolver, Sting and Robbie were amazing

But the crowd were really into it! Even people who weren't born last time they performed together were singing along. Their set was amazing and I really can't believe they've been away for 24 years. Wish You Were Here was really emotional and stirring people's emotions is what today has all been about.

This isn't supposed to be a comeback show... they reformed specifically for Live 8 and Sir Bob had to do a hell of a lot of work to get them on the same stage again. If Live 8 hadn't have happened there would have been no Pink Floyd reunion.

Think they could have thought a bit harder about the finale rather than recycling the ending from the Queens Jubilee concert tho'

All in all I've had a great day relaxing in front of this doing naff all and i hope some tangible results are seen on Wednesday in Edinburgh.

Damn, after actually reading the tv magazine, I could have rewatched the show on BBC3 tonight from 7pm (then I would have seen the whole chunk I'd missed! - instead by the time I realised it was well into the bits I'd seen)

After 3 nights going to bed at 2am, I've decided to cut my loses tonight (agreed that the Pink Floyd set wasn't even my cup of tea and Macca bored me because it was the same set I've seen him do before so felt like it was a huge comedown)

Have watched some of the Philly gig (yay Black Eyed Peas ) but noticed that it's on tomorrow from 7pm on BBC3 so plan on catching it then instead from the beginning (as it didn't seem to be from the start after the UK gig ??)

Sorry, Pink Floyd really sucked the fun out of the end of the gig. Just as well Paul McCartney rescued it.

I guess I've seen Macca too often on things to feel like he lifted it up for me (including live gigs many years ago - ok it was 1991) that doesn't mean he wasn't good.

For me, it would have been great if the evening ended with a proper group/merged ensemble aka the old Princes Trust Concerts used to be.

I'm still confused by the tv listings, wasn't the UK side of the gigs supposed to have finished by 10pm - I feel sorry for everyone trying to train it home as the tubes and trains don't stay open late on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. Came unstuck once myself and ended up having to find a b&b in KingsX

Yup the UK gig overran by something like 90 minutes or so.
