Yes surely they'd attack up there because of the important high profile men up there.

Id not thought about it being because of the G8...i woud have though they'd attacked Gleneagles for that
Explosions on the Underground
The entire London Underground network has been closed due to an alleeged power surge between Liverpool Street and Aldgate, causing explosions.
Have been told to report for work as the network may be running a special service as soon as all is clear.

I'd imagine that it has more to do with G8 than the Olympics. There's no way that something like this could have been planned since the announcement.
They wouldn't be able to target Gleneagles as they wouldn't be able to get past security. Their intention is to cause as much disruption as possible, and they don't care how many people they hurt in doing that

Theres defonatly been a crash in one of the kings cross tube tunnels, people are dead and trapped and they are starting a rescue
A police helicoptor and the air ambulance has just gone over my house (the station is near me) and they were going in london direction
I heard that, but wasn't sure if it was official or not. To me, I know this sounds sick but surely Al Q'uaeda (sp?) would want to cause maximum chaos and deaths they'd attack more places in the underground rather than buses and Canary Wharf

Alkieda or whatever they are called has taken responsiblity.
Al Qaieda just declared on a 200 word statement that they were responsible for the bombings in London this morning - still to be confirmed.
But Gleneagles is under shit hot security right now. what better time to attack London than when the security efforts are focussed elsewhere. Its likely that this has been planned for months and yesterdays's announcement was just the icing on the cake for the terrorists.

I've also heard that reports that an 'Al Quaieda related organisation' has claimed responsibility on a website.
Also the London Ambulance Service have reported another explosion at Leicester Square.
Just what I was gonna write but you did it so much better than I could have

Never thought of it like that, but I suppose that could be true. Loads of police and services have been sent up to Scotland so I should imagine there'd be less down here.
Still won't put me off London.
Still won't put me off London.
My Dad works in an office in between Aldgate and Liverpool Street, and he heard the explosions. His building aren't letting people out, and they've cut all the phone wires just in case.
So yeah, I'm feeling a little edgy at the moment. Was meant to be going to Sum41 in a few hours, but considering a) the police are warning people into london b) Liverpool Street is my connecting station and c) the underground is closed and d) it's probably cancelled anyway (large crowds of people, really not a good idea)
If I hadn't have been working today, I'd have been right there, how scary.
I hope everyone stays safe, and thanks for the concern from some people

Nope, and I'd imagine most people are of the same opinion, it's not like we're America and about to close down the country and hide for the next few weeks, experience with the IRA has well prepared the emergency services for this sort of thing, and most of us will just get on with life as if you don't, the terrorists have already won..
