Are they really serious about this?
Just because the bus goes along the (general) route on their way to work, it doesn't mean it's actually any easier.
What about schedule changes? Route cancellations? Traffic accidents? All of these can affect a bus service. Surely companies (the TSE included!) can see that they are more likely to have their employees in to work on time & more frequently if they don't have to rely on public transport.
I guess I'm coming from a point of view of English public transport, but how different can the circumstances be?
