Shepherd's Bush, Warren Street and Oval stations have been evacuated, the entire underground is shut down. There's apparently an 'incident' on a bus.

They're speaking to an eyewitness now, it sounds as if someone was attempting a copycat bombing, the detonators went off but the bombs didn't explode.

WOW I am pissed right now.

I think no one has been hurt. I hope so.

They've just said 1 person was injured at Warren Street but nothing else so far. If it's just 1 we'll be lucky.

And also some sort of blast has blown the windows out of a bus in Hackney.

And someone has been arrested after they were trying to attempt to get into Downing Street by armed police. The cow on the Radio spoke to quick for me to get it all.

Yeah they showed a guy being led away, shirt open, with police guns trained on him. Could just be some guy passing by who doesn't understand English for all we know.

There's a possibility that one of the bombers was injured and went to the University College Hospital, which is currently sealed off. I hope it's true, I really really do.

At this time it either looks like a hoax attack that went off too soon or a real attempt that didn't work. Either way, catch them, lock them away and throw away the key.

The latest incident, where an Asian man was gunned down by multiple police shots on the platform of Stockwell Tube, has caused anxiety among some Muslims. Inayat Bunglawala, a spokesman for the Muslim council of Britain, has said people are "jumpy and nervous".

"I have just had one phone call saying 'What if I was carrying a rucksack?'.It's vital the police give a statement about what occurred and explain why the man was shot dead. There may well be reasons why the police felt it necessary to unload five shots into the man and shoot him dead, but they need to make those reasons clear.

"We are getting phone calls from quite a lot of Muslims who are distressed about what may be a shoot to kill policy."

They certainly do need clear up why they did so but not while they are in the middle of an investigation. Because you will have to back up claims like "he was a suicide bomber" or whatever with solid evidance. Giving out that evidence to the public in the middle of a police action could tip off "other parties involved" to go into hiding and destroy evidence.

And there is a shoot to "stop" policy (according to the news) which means you shoot someone in the torso (biggest mass) but this also contains a lot of the vital organs.... Bit different from a shoot the kill policy but they can easily have the same effect.

And phonecalls stating "what if I was carrying a rucksack?" are extremely stupid if you ask me. Millions of people travel each day using the tubes and many thousands (if not hundred thousands) of those people are muslims and a certain percentage of those will be carrying rucksacks. So if you have so little faith in the policy that you seriously think that you will be shot down just because you are a muslim and have a rucksack something is seriously wrong with you!

Gunning someone down in broad daylight tends to tip any co-conspirators off. All the police need to justify a shooting is that they had "reasonable suspicion" he was a lethal threat, not that he actually was.

When British police shoot, they always shoot to kill. There's no such thing as a shoot to wound or warning shot.

Peelers aren't infalliable. A man was previously shot for holding a chair leg in a carrier that supposedly looked like a gun. If you already feel vulnerable, police gunning down people for carrying a rucksack will spread panic. The risk of being caught up in any terrorist action is staggeringly low; the psychology of "it could be me" is very real.

Sprinting away down into the tube station after being told to stop would seem to be rather suspicious, no?

I've made no comment about whether the shooting itself was justified or not, merely about how the police PR people handled the aftermath.
