Well, it was a bit of a bumpy launch because the database suddenly decided to give unexplainable error... but threathening it with the bigger hammer seemed to work
T21 is dead. Long live T21
With some sadness we hereby announce that the T21 v1.0 era (5th March 2002 - 3rd September 2005) is coming to an end. Version 1.0 of T21 has tonight been replaced with version 2.0. After 3 and half years of loyal service we are abandoning our old working horse and replacing it with a new one. After almost 2 years of development tonight we finally arrived at version 2.0.
Although we originally planned an updated T21 based on the version 1.0 framework by the time we got this version 1.5 going The Noid announced that version 2.0 of the framework was ready for template development and version 1.5 quickly got abandoned and the party started all over again. This meant that version 1.5 never saw the daylight but just for once we’ll give you all a sneak peek at what could have been:
Hereby I would like to thank everyone who made T21 v1.0 possible, and yes that does also include you
For all you stat buffs we dived up some T21 v1.0 statistics:

Oooh, shiny newness!

As nice as the new shininess is, is the content going to change to an extent that encourages a greater amount of traffic?

Hopefully the new format will be conducive to more content.
Is it understood why traffic here is (relatively) "low", ie what aspects of content are relevant to the traffic levels? Interface changes are unlikely to have significant effect on the level of created content, though obviously they can affect it's utility.

BTW, how are we supposed to quote text here, the "Select text from previous posts to Quote" bit dosn't seem to work for me.
/me chalks up another bug..
Looks good... just a shame that, now we've finally all learned how to put our content in neat boxes with subtle shadows round the outside, A List Apart has redesigned and we all have to learn another new way of being bleeding-edge web design kiddies...
I'll apologise in advance for this but it has to be said...
Alan you dirty, dirty forum whore
You only around for the last days of v1.0 and you got to number 7 on the topic starters list
Oh, and the wuote feature hasn't worked for me since I last came back, I suspect it uses java? Good thing I tend to just type quote tags anyhow (and can remember smilies, 'cause they don't seem to be working either :S). It's looking good though. Do we have spoiler tags now? Or an :ugg: smilie, I like those...

One thing I forgot to ask last night on chat, is there any plan for a "who's online" style feature?
The quote button on a post () should work in any browser. The quote thingy at the bottom of the Post a Reply page has the same problem as the smilies in many browsers.
A who's online thingy has been in the plans since the early days of T21, who knows, maybe we'll actually get around to making it this time

Now if you take out the birthday and convention threads (and possibly old games) that'll probably put me to the bottom of any list
