What happens if you just want to change channels cos you're bored of what you're watching or want to see what else is on? Weird-ass
No more skipping ads
The future looks grim for the tv audience of the future In a recent patent Royal Philips Electronics published a technology which would allow broadcasters to block the viewers ability to switch channels when commercials come on or skip commercials all together with devices like Tivo.
The company also recognized that this might not sit well with consumers so they brought up the idea that consumers could pay a fee to the broadcaster so they would be allowed to skip the commercials or change channels. If this technology makes in in new TV's and set-top boxes as intended it might change the way we watch television forever.
With some people already not liking the fact that free TV show downloads from networks like ABC and FOX won't allow you to skip commercials when watching their streams how will the public react to this new development?
What else will they have in stock for us? Shoes that won't allow you to stand up and go to the loo / kitchen when commercials are on.....?
On a slightly more positive note Philips said it had no plans to use the technology in any of its products. But if the technology is out there......

I'll take that weird-ass and raise you a bonkers.
It's disturbing they feel there's a market for this. Some company no doubt implements it, another comes up with a patch, there's a "skip-wars" as they try to outdo each other, then legal battles and eventually everyone admits defeat when they realise people are suddenly going to the theatre again.
Best quit at the beginning chaps!

If they put such a stupid device in a tv set, then I will stop watching, simple as that...
I'm not wasting my life being forced to watch an add for a loan company I'm NEVER going to call, or eat a cereal which has had all the taste processed out of it, no matter how many times you shove it in my face....
Grrr... Irritating people!
