I'd heard about this, but I got the impression he was going to keep trading until he got a house of his very own... Must try this sometime...
Man Trades Paperclip for House
They say you cant get something for nothing, but if you try hard enough, you can get a lot for a little, or so the message from Kyle MacDonald seems to be. The 26 year old Canadian started out with just a paper clip, and through a process of trading, ended up with a year rent free in a house in Phoenix.
A pen, a doorknow, a camping stove, a generator, a beer keg, a snowmobile, a van and a recording contract were all stages on Kyles swapathon.
Have you ever made any unusual swaps, or do you feel like making a go of a swap chain? Who knows what you could have a year from now?

I made it to a holiday home for the summer time or something last year and I heard he's going at it again to indeed get a home of his own. The idea is pretty cool and in many student cities in the Netherlands they have these kinda trade things going on in the intro weeks for new students. This is how my Bro ended up with a huge tractor tire in his backyard as they traded it for a broken lawn set
I don't think that supermarkets will be very happy though as their trolleys seem to also disappear around that time (for trade or for lugging around stuff I guess)
