probably not the best idea comming on the first anniversary of 7/7
Street Wars comes to London
The 3 week long, 24/7, watergun assassination tournament that has already taken place in New York City, Vancouver, Vienna, San Francisco, Los Angeles, is now coming to London.
Have you always wanted to prove your skills as an elite assassin, but all the blood and gore was just too much for you (or your moral compass doesn't point due south ) this is your chance to prove your worth and blast your target away with your squirt gun. You can enroll if you live and work in the london area before the 14th of July and the competition itself will take place between July 25th and Aug 15th.
If you have no clue what this "Street Wars" is all about check out their website or this little video.
Happy Hunting!

It's people hunting each other with water pistols. It starts on the 25th of July which is more than 2 weeks after the first anniversary of 7/7 and chances are you will not even recognize people playing the game when you meet them in the street.
Sure it's horrible what happened on 7/7 but as far as I'm aware the explosions weren't caused by H2O from a kids toy so I really fail to see the relation.
Wowser. This is like that game in 'The Man Who Knew Too Little', isn't it?
We bought two half-decent water guns on holiday, but the kids lost both caps, so you can't build up the pressure in the tank. I'm on the look out for bottle caps that fit...
Edited: more speed, less letters...

Actually, I kind of see Vinnie's point of view. Jean Charles De Menezes (sp?) didn't have much to do with 7/7 either, but that didn't stop the Met from filling his head with lead.
Should spice things up a bit, though. It started in America, in any case, and they're not short of armed police.

Yeps it was CSI New York Episode 215 (fare game) if I recall correctly.

Wasnt this in a Episode of CSI New York a bit ago.
Wow! That sounds so cool! I'm actually quite gutted that I've missed the deadline to enter. Not that I'd be any good, I'm too lazy. Lol! Although people are always telling me off for sneaking up on them without them realising...
What isn't the best idea is doing what me and my mates did when setting off on holiday. Travelling on the underground on the day after 7/7 my mate was wearing a T-Shirt that said "The Bomb" with a picture of a bomb on it - he honestly hadn't even thought about it until the airport security gave him some hassle over it. Then I tried to get on the plane with a knife in my hand luggage - ooops I had forgotten that was there. Had to post it back home. So all in all we were getting looked at suspiciously by security.

News just in: British Transport Police have described Street Wars as "irresponsible" and have said that players "risk committing criminal offences". Contestants were also advised to stay away from the London Underground and rail system.

Water guns that look like real guns are forbidden anyways as they have to be clearly identifiable as a "toy".
Thats why most of these guns look like this:
or
If these types of weapons scare people than thats just touch shit as it's a completely irrational fear. I don't see them removing each and every spider from the tube stations or keep the number of people in there to a minimum as there might be people who are afraid of crowds, or build them really huge as people might be afraid of cramped spaces.
Sure you shouldn't run around with guns that look real as even if there hadn't been an attack on the tubes walking around with a "real gun" would scare people. However that was against the law to start with and the police should indeed take action against that. So really it's a big non-issue, as nothing has changed, which the papers are making a huge issue out of with the help of some police press officers as it's summer and they got nothing else to report.
