I'm neither here nor there on Gordon Brown really, same as I was with Tony Blair. I don't support the Labour party, and I don't vote for them, but i'm indifferent towards them. Advances and improvements have been made in the last ten years, and they sit in the middle ground in a pretty inoffensive place.
Whether he'd be an improvement or not I have no idea, but I'd guess they'll sit in the same middle ground they are now. The first noticable change would be a big cabinet change, bringing in lots of new faces to differentiate Brown's cabinet from Blair's.
A general election will either be at the end of the current 4 year term (2009? i think?) or one can be called before then. The Libieral Democrats are, I understand, tabling a Parliamentary motion to ask the Queen to disolve Parliament and call an election, which I can't see happening. When it does happen, I think the Conservatives will win. They made pretty big gains in the local elections and they seem to be on the up.
