yeah - a book section would appear to be about the only thing missing.
Book recommendation
In the absence of a 'Books' section, I thought I'd post this here.
I had one of those got-two-minutes-to-pick-a-book moments at an airport book store before taking a flight and grabbed a book called "Dead Witch Walking" by Kim Harrison. It's not something I'd usually choose - I normally give 'fantasy' a wide berth so I wouldn't have found it in a larger store.
Yes, it has witches, vampire, weres, pixies, et al but it's as much detective story set in near future Cincinnati as it is about magic. The characters are well drawn and motivated and the story draws you in. I enjoyed it so much I immediately went out to buy the next in the series - "The Good, The Bad and The Undead" which I've just finished (about 10 minutes ago) and is even better. I couldn't find it in Waterstones and had to ask if they had it. It was in the 'Horror' section where I hadn't thought to look.
Anyway, I thought that it would be a good T21 Book Club recommendation

Behold, from the ashes of the Fanfic forum, rose The Writers' Room! (Which was supposed to be fanfic but we filled it with general print media discussion as we couldn't get anyone to actually write any fan fiction. Heh.)
funnily enough, ive always assumed that was a fan-fic forum (which is how it was advertised), hence my having never entered...
If I recall on the previous incarnation of the site we had a Books & Comics forum which had light use, and rather than drop it when we decided to simplify the whole subforum thing, we amalgamated it into the writers room, which might have been called something a little more inclusive at the time...
Yep, and I've copied this thread into the Writers' Room. 'Tis the season for resurrection. (I hope.)
