(I'm quite unconcerned with the precise definition, as I'm sure someone will pull the official definition from somewhere.)
So do I, Sange ... and ditto

I surpose I could say I have a duty to myself and my children to do the best I can. Personaly I don't feel it is a duty as I feel I do the best for my children and this is done from deep inside me rather that I feel its a duty.
Ok confused myself now but I know what I mean
I agree with Jola. If I have ever have a hubby and kids then they would always come first.

My duty is to be first a good wife and mother!
I have old fashioned values so I believe that my duty is to my family no matter what
I would tend to agree, I think in military situations the army for example still have duties to ones country.

"Duty" is what they used to call "values" or "priorities," I think. The only difference I might see is that "duty" sounds like something society or tradition might dictate that a person cares about, whereas the person herself determines her "values" or "priorities."
