The Meaning of Life
ok don't you think tis stuoid people wanting to know the meaning and thinking its the ultimate question? even i know the answer. does there have to be a meaning for everything? no, its jsut life, we are simply here to live mate and make more of our kind, thats what we're designed for doing and thats what we do. eat, drink, sleep and have sex. ok we work and that helps make the world run smoother but the meaning is simply for us to live and more to be made from us.

I know some people have exceptionally shallow ideas on what makes life worthwhile, and some have very deep ideas of their reason for being.
I don't think there is a definitive 'Meaning of Life', Spike.

hold on i'm trying to say basically there is no meaning of life, we're here to do what we do thats it, its not reeally a meaning. so why do people spend their lives trying to figure it out?

The important question is not what is the meaning of life, but what is the meaning of my life.
What do I hold dear, what is worth fighting for or dying for, what do I believe in.
Some people find that meaning in religion, some in philosophy, some through introspection and some will never stop to ask the question at all.

As always in this diverse world there are many different takes on what the meaning of life is.
I know there are a lot of people that feel there is a lot more to life then your take on things.
Personally i have a similar view to you Spike. I'm here to live my life, enjoy it as much as possible and be a decent human being.

Erm, I think that came out wrong...
Also some of us .. ah, family friendly .. um are of a persuasion that makes procreation unlikely. Some people don't even want children, and that's fair enough.
Meaning of life? I'm with those who say that the question really means 'What is the meaning of my life?' We all create are own meaning. Some find this harder to do than others and spend longer thinking about it. In the end, as it is our individual life we're trying to find a meaning for, there are no wrong answers, just different ones. I have mine; many people have a completely different view. More power to them.
But Beer's a good start.

It kind of takes out the whole 'living' aspect of life for me. What if I made a bad job of it? Would I have failed in my life's duty? ERgh. Too messy to think about. For me, the meaning of my life, what it means to me changes *alot* sometimes I feel my life is there for me to share it with loved ones, have fun and be happy. Sometimes all life means to me is getting through the next five minutes.

I was trying to compose a measured and meaningful reply to this topic, but possibly due to the atrophy my brain suffers on night shifts, it is currently insisting that Jaffa Cakes are the meaning of life. Luckily i have a tube sat next to me
