I'm so not good with electrical things they do tend to come apart in my hands I'm afraid

i have a president gorberchoff thing however its spelt. its a head that glows red and goes bzzzzz when you put you hand on it and it cost me 50p from a school fate about 15 years ago and the batteries still have not run out and it often goes bzzzzzzzz all by itself every now and again.

I'm surprised how long several of my amps have lasted, the old ones I inherited from my Dad, like my beloved Marshall amp, actually seem to last waay longer than some of the new ones I've bought (*cough*Squier*cough*), which seem to explode/fall apart at the drop of a hat.

I've got one of those little dictaphone things with the mini cassettes, which my parents bought before I was born, that's still going strong, and I have a fisher price tape recorder (which I now use for band practices) which I got for my fourth birthday

Kelly has a cheapo ALBA Clock Radio that is about 15 or maybe more years old (it was her mums before she inherited it..) and it still wakes us up with either a SCREECHING buzz, or a scratchy, rough sounding radio that is bound to burrow into your dreams like a pickaxe.

Also, I have a Pioneer amplifier which I bought second hand 9 years ago, and it was already around 10 years old when I bought it. Recently I blew a channel on it..but that was my fault! No doubt I will have it repaired and it will soldier on. I plan to give it to my kid if I ever have one.

edit - that doesn't sound right, goldfishes don't last that long do they?. I have a feeling it got replaced at least once!

no way mines 5 years old as it is its taking up too much room and getting massive

The battery in my calculator has lasted since 1988! (14 years ago) I bought the calculator when I was at school and its still going strong - and works properly!

My friend's goldfish lasted about 12 years... they took it to the vet just before the end, got some very strange looks

I had a mega horn which lasted ages. Its one of those things you put on your bike. I had it instead of a bell. Pah, bells were so much less than my mega horn. It was so loud, one little button would trigger a fog horn. It was so much fun when I was little. I loved deafening people.

My Rotel amp has just died after about 30 years of service

I think I'm going to look into getting it fixed though.
