News - Guns 'n' Roses cancel US tour
Guns NÂ’ Roses have aborted their first US tour in ten years, after failing to appear at a scheduled show in Philadelphia on December 6.
Axl RoseÂ’s band had been scheduled to tour until the end of December. Their tour had been receiving positive reviews after an initial hiccup when fans rioted in Vancouver, Canada when the singer failed to turn up for what was supposed to have been the tourÂ’s opening show.
A spokesperson for the Philadelphia venue, the First Union Center, told the Associated Press that Guns cancelled their show after a band member fell ill. As yet the bandÂ’s label, Interscope, have not issued a statement explaining why the remaining tour dates have been pulled.

lol, doesn't say which band member. wonder if Axl's had another tantrum or such
What were Guns n Roses like when you saw them spitfulangel (and others who saw)?
It's weird, calling them Guns n roses because the line up now is so different than before. From what i've heard, they sometimes play old stuff but most of it is new stuff. I think that Axl should have had a complete change and just changed the name - fresh start kinda thing. i know that they've got a name fixed and are famous but nearly any band that Axl fronts would prolly become famous to an extent.

Darn good, actually. I think most people were expecting the worst, but well, they sounded good, and Axl's still a great frontman, no matter how dislikeable he may be in other respects..

Not a surprise to see them cancelling another tour, though. They were supposed to play some shows here last year, which the band then claimed they didn't even know about!
Way to go Axl, Start another riot!! I was looking forward to them coming to the Uk, but after listening to the new album, I can take it or leave it. An he's apparently very elusive now.
I also heard a rumor, (not sure how true this is) that Slash, had asked Courteney Love to front his Guns'n' roses band What's that all about? Do we have two G'N'Rs
I thought the riot started because according to VH1, he was onboard his flight but it was delayed in taking off, which caused him to not be on stage on time, so the shows managers (or whatever) pulled the show causing the riot. Axl was fuming, apparently. Still who knows what goes on, behind closed rock band doors

All of the original members of G'n'R apart from Axl are still together as such in a unit, and they've been recording demos with some vocalists. I haven't heard Courtney Love's name mentioned though

The riot that happened in Vancouver was apparently caused by Axl not being able to get clearance to enter Canada for whatever reason; it's totally seperate to this news of someone falling ill and the tour being cancelled.

I say 'New' it's actually the album the tour is named after in the States.
Courtney Love/Slash - As I said it was only a rumour, It was in Sundays 'News of the world' So it must be true! LOL

So is this Chinese Democracy? Or have they named the tour after one of the old albums?

And I saw G n'R a few months back, and they absolutely rocked! As good as they were when I saw them back in '93. They played mostly old stuff with a few new tracks thrown in. The new stuff seemed promising too. I was a bit disappointed they didn't play 'Oh My God' though, cos I like that lots!
Yeah, chinese democracy, I heard it on the net, and it really is not even in the same class, as the G'N'R we know and love, maybe I should stick it out and it will grow on me. I don't think I would rush out and buy it though
I *HAVE* to ask about this, because I live (when I'm at Uni during term time) opposite a huge Guns n Roses fan who checks the net virtually every other day, and he hasn't found anything like new material floating around. There are rough recordings of some of the recent shows with a couple of new tracks, but there's no guarantee they'll even be on the new album, if/when it ever surfaces (latest date is roughly June 2003)
I'm talking about tracks like 'Chinese Democracy', 'Madagascar', and a couple others that they've been debuting over the last few months, including at Reading and when they played London back in August.

Well I'm pretty sure when I saw them in London, Axl said that all the new songs they played that evening were ones that they had decided definitely *wouldn't* be on the new album.
But if you've got hold of some tracks, any chance of some pointers as to where/how I might be able to get them too? Please?

Well, from what I can gather there are two versions of the album, 'Rock in Rio' and 'studio' version. So I know the album is made. See www.gnronline.com

Yeah definately take this one to email please if you're on about swapping bootleg live tracks or stolen studio tracks.
OOoh, Monster Absolutely not! For one I don't beleive in Bootleg live tracks, not only is the quality dud and crap, which in itself ruins the listeners music pleasure, but it is also ruining the industry. I would much rather wait for the official band/s live album. And I was giving POF a link to go to to listen to the album for himself, as an MP3. The reason I said e-mail me, is because I wasn't sure if I would be allowed to post the link. And I'm pretty sure their not stolen studio tracks. (I hope not anyway) That also is not my thing.
