First tape I bought was (horrificly enough) Meatloaf.

& I have to agree with you Spikeo on the first band I ever got into. Rage Against The Machine was like nothing I'd ever heard before. Shame that they never really managed to follow it up with anything nearly as strong.

First record i bought myself????... oooo...ummm.. will have to get back to you on that one.. might have been something by Duran Duran, but i can't be sure.. the first records that were bought for me were probably those by The Osmonds and *blush* Gary Glitter.. hey, i was only about six at the time!! Though i clearly remember my mum and dad buying "Tragedy" by the Bee Gees and "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor for me for my tenth birthday

I do believe my first tape was The Simpsons singing 'Do the bartman!'

I think it might have been a tape of Michael Jackson's 'Bad'

My dad got me the CD for Christmas and I was like "Dad, I don't have a CD player, but I guess I'll listen to it on my mum's" and then he gave me my next present...

I think I bought two records at the same time. One was Adam and the Ants - Ant Rap and the other was Bardo - One Step Further - anyone remember them?

I went through an Abba phase then I went through an Iron Maiden phase then when I was 12 I would say my first proper band was Prince And The Revolution.

Some of the earliest songs I remember owning are Tiffany - Radio Romance, Sinita(or was it Sabrina?) - Boys Boys Boys and London Boys - Requiem.

I've still got a tape with Mario Brothers on it as well as Tetris and I had Do The Bartman on MP3 for a while

I used to know all the words to Do The Bartman and also to Partners In Kryme - Turtle Power

My first single of tape was Spice Girls - 2 become 1, and my first CD was Peter Andre - Mysterious Girl!

First Album...hmmmm...probably some 90's pop band which I deny all rumours that I liked

Me too. Adam Ant was my first crush - hee hee. Even now I see his old videos on TV and still think he was gorgeous.

Can't remember my first record, but apparently I used to like The Rubettes (when I was tiny) and would flash my knickers at them when they were on TV (somethings never change ) I was seeing a guy who worked in a recording studio about 10 years ago and one of the bands that came in were The Rubettes. My boyfriend told them about me flashing them many years ago and I was mortified, especially at their replies which were certainly not "family friendly"

When I was about 5 I inherited a stack of old records and a ropey old record player that my mum and dad gave me purely so i'd leave their expensive one alone.

Most of the records were a bit scratched but they included Gary Glitter {Keeny dont be embarressed most of his girlfriends were only 6 - snigger}, Shakin Stevens and plenty of classical.

OOh, I feel terribly old and embarrassed,mine was a 'Dollar' effort, called Shooting Star!, Didn't even like David Van Day
But then along came the lovely Adam and his little Ants, and the error of my ways was corrected. I then move onto my teenage love Paul Young, Mmmm

My first single (on vinyl :upset was 'Let's Hang On' by Barry Manilow

Latest album i bought was Avril Lavigne 'Let Go'

Think the first album i got was Top Of The Pops 1976 on LP
