I went to Leeds for the third year in a row. It was really good and I did enjoy it, but it just wasn't as good as the first couple of years. I didn't think the atmosphere was anywhere near as good as usual, probably because of the insane security. And what the hell was with the toilets? If you don't want violence, give people decent toilets for God's sake instead of a giant hole! Definately no designed with women in mind..... I was worried about the new venue, but Bramham Park is really very pretty and we didn't have as far to walk from the campsites as at Temple Newsam, but no handy Sainburies!
Ah well, a lot of the music was great (a lot was awful and there was far too much ass kissing for my liking, but whatya gonna do?). Blur were fantastic, it's a shame they were the last band because they really put me in the mood for a festival! Placebo were also great (Brian Molko actually oozes cool, I swear, he left a puddle on stage with a big neon sign that said 'COOL' ) and just seeing the Darkness made the whole weekend worthwhile. Strangely I managed to drink more than usual and stay ridiculously sober (past couple of years ended with me as drunken heap, but let's not talk about that) so maybe that's why I sound cranky and bitter (if i do at all...)
