Not going to affect me too much, if there is anything I need to watch that is blocked I can always get around it using a proxy and an SSH Tunnel. Great extension for proxying I use is: QuickProxy.
It seems the record industry is trying to squeeze each and every penny they possibly can out of these deals which in effect is a bit weird if you consider that no deal would harm the people they say they represent most. These music video's help sell songs, especially with the direct linking in the YouTube player to different sales channels. Yet I cannot see the video's as something that really attracts people to the site. Viral video's are much wider spread than official music clips.
To be honest I think YouTube did the right thing here in saying no to the PRS. Sure the public won't like it and I'm sure it won't be beneficial for record sales either. The generally arrogance of organisations like PRS (and other similar groups) when it comes these new media channels is just astonishing and just shows how much they have lost grip with reality and the people they say they represent. They would prefer to sell 1 item at a £1000 profit than than 1000 items at £1 profit, yet I'm sure that with all things being equal the artists would prefer to attract the widest possible audience.
