There was a bit with faith where she said something about there being a lot to do before "little sis" arrives. I can't remember the exact quote.

There should be a fairly lengthy and involved discussion on this very subject in the latter days of the old Road to T21 archive, entitled 'Portents of the Future in Buffy the Vampire Slayer', or something like. I forget where, but I'm pretty sure those archives are around somewhere. It's in the T21 guides I think.

I have for years maintained that 'little sister' is the Slayer who should have been called when Faith died but wasn't because she refused to pass over. I'd like to take this opportunity to say that Joss has stated it always referred to Dawn, so I was wrong, although I maintain my interpretation is a valid one, even if not correct.

As for the whole 'Spike is like a son to me', I guess that could be referring to Tabula Rasa, if so then I'm amazed at the planning that goes into Buffy. If you thnik about it, it could also be a reference to Spike and Buffy's relationship. Buffy is like a daughter to Giles, and so Spike being with Buffy makes him like a son to Giles. Hmmm, now I've said it I don't really believe it but still! It's amazing that Restless still has us talking, it's kept us going far longer than the break between seasons than I thought it would.

Joss is on record as saying that everything in 'Restless' was dealt with in Season 5. Of course, he could have been lying..

As for the Tabula Rasa stuff, it's fairly minor really, and I don't believe that was planned ahead at all. Much more likely that whoever wrote the ep (Rebecca Rand Kirshner, IIRC. Hey, I can even remember who wrote eps I don't like very much ) just remembered some stuff that they could take from that.

So, I wonder what the first thing we're all going to watch when we get the S4 DVDs is?

What about "We're not all demons" from buffy then Riley says, "is that a fact?". Then buffy covering her face with that goop, could be linked to buffy hiding in earlier eps of Buffy S6

Most of the storylines hve been planned well ahead, for instance Joos Whedon knew Joyce was going to die as early as S3.

There is absolutely tonnes you can link very vaguely to S6 in there actually.

Right.

Faith didn't die, but she was supposed to, of this I am certain. When they were making up the bed for little sis in This Year's Girl, that was Faith setting everything neat and being ready to move on. However, her unresolved issues with Buffy - hence the knife wound Buffy gave her spoiling the nice clean sheet - dragged her back, and by sheer force of will she managed to _not_ die.

That's what I mean by the Slayer who should have been called when Faith died, but wasn't because she didn't.
