Well, not that much of a shock if you read the "Buffy S6 Finalé" topic
It's a shocker all right, and it confirms all the rumours about Willow's return to the dark side, (Which I think was cut short terribly before) at least with Amber being promoted to full cast member you know it can't be for all that long
I just hope Joss doesn't do the whole "reset" thing, and can work out something more creative than the old "Dynasty" twist..

Yes, I've read the finale topic, I just wanted to separate them out because they are not really closely related.

The fact is, I suspected something like this might happen long before the season started - There were clues about this in season 5. But with things the way they were, Willows Redemption(cough! crap storyline )I was just so surprised to see it come back to this situation. What really shocked me about it was Amber benson being a cast regular and then dying.

Another surprising thing for me was Anya becoming a vengance demon again, because it looked as though it was going so well.

And I think its just cruelty bringing Tara and Willow together again, and then killing Tara.

I completely agree, a reset would be completely lame and to be honest, below Joss Whedon. The way the characters are going, we'll be getting back to the basics again which will work exceedingly well. www.eonline.com has an interview with Joss Whedon where aparently the theme of Season 7 will be buffy year 1. I hope this doesn't mean a return to the high school years with Dawn as I don't think that would work.

Or, in retrospect, it was a dead giveaway. Joss wanted to put Jesse in the credits in the very first ep only to kill him off, and he's finally got to do that..

Especially to do it in such a random way. At least when they killed Jenny, there was a reason within the plot to do it. This is just.. caught in the crossfire.

Nah, of course that's not what he meant. It's about taking the spirit of the show back to how it was, not the setting. While S6 has really begun to impress me the last few eps, it is arguably an entirely different show to how it started. As he says in the interview, Willow won't be a junkie, Buffy will be the hero again. I've been suspecting for a while that S7 would bring yet another radical change to the show, and that sounds good to me.

Sounds a bit weird to be looking forward to the next season when this one ahsn't even finished, but i'm also excited for s7

so the ep has aire din the US now...anything interesting happen on the Buffy/Spike front? Somehow i doubt whatever happens bewteen them will be pretty

Ahem. No, it's not pretty at all..

I just wonder if Sky One will be showing that scene or not. I mean it is important to the plot but the way it is done is just brutal. It also guaruntees the Season 6 part 2 box set an 18. We know Tara's going to die, but did Sky One have to say after Alias in the trailer: Find out who dies in Tommorows episode of Buffy. Apart from anything, it spoils it for those of us who don't actively seek out spoilers(I used to be one of them). Buffy season 6: absolutely brilliant but I wonder if the direction its taking has come too soon. They are going to cram everything into 5 episodes(18,19,20,21,22) which to be honest is not enough.
